Speaking from Experience...

Before I became a health coach, I had 20 years experience in the fast-paced corporate world working for well-known companies and brands in the UK, Europe and the Caribbean such as Saatchi and Saatchi, Harrods, Young and Rubicam, Cargill, Utell International, Mobil, Carnival Cruise Lines and more.

Arriving in New Zealand in 1990 I worked for well established companies including Sun Microsystems, Giltrap Motors, Telecom, the EMA and ADHB. I also had several years experience in the very pressurized film industry, working for production companies like TV3, TVNZ, South Pacific TV and Daybreak Pictures.

So I know what it's like to work to deadlines, spend hours commuting, rush meals, feel pressured, sit at a desk hours every day, run back-to-back appointments, juggle multiple projects, work 60+ hours / 6 days a week and experience the joys of office politics.

I also know the consequences of not making one's health and wellbeing a priority, because I suffered the end results of not doing so: I experienced burnout (twice!), chronic fatigue, clinical depression, chronic anxiety and stress, ongoing back pain, culminating in 10 years unable to work, and a very long (and expensive) journey back to health. This was the impetus to learn how to do things differently and get different results.

Now I am anxiety and depression-free, my back is stronger than ever, I have more than enough energy, and I know how to maintain energy and balance in my life.

As a result of this personal journey to find wellbeing, together with over 10,000 hours of professional training in the THE most cutting-edge methods available anywhere in the world, and hundreds of hours of hands-on experience helping people transform illness and unhappiness into health and wellbeing, I can now truly say I have a profound understanding of what it takes to manage one's health. Stress and Fatigue Management

Once the core reasons for stress and fatigue are understood, solutions are relatively easily to implement. Through individual coaching, small focus groups or presentations I can clearly show how to reduce and eradicate stress, anxiety and fatigue. The expertise I bring in this field is the result of my own personal journey plus working with hundreds of clients. In 2011 my chronic fatigue teleseries was nominated for the Waitemata Health Excellence Award.

Work-Life Fitness / Balance

Contrary to popluar opinion, over-working does not result in improved creativity or productivity. In fact, the more we look after ourselves, the more we are able to do our work in an effective, timely and focused manner. I teach people the specifics of how to lead a balanced life in order to maximise enjoyment of both work and home life.

Illness, Injury and Burnout Prevention

Illness, injury and burnout are often due to lack of personal awareness of one's self-care habits. It is totally within our realm as human beings to avoid and prevent sickness and accidents. I show people exactly how to self-care in order to stay well.

Drug-free Pain and Illness Recovery

Illness is the body's way of telling us we are off track: symptoms are necessary and intelligent information to tell us about issues we need to address in our life. I help people identify what their symptoms are telling them if their body could speak words, and show them exactly how they can bring themselves back to health without the need for medication or supplements.

Overcoming Grief, Anxiety and Depression

Most of us our brought up to be emotionally unaware and unable to deal with emotions and traumas. I show people exactly how to manage and master their emotions and stress so it does not lead to de-pression, the unconscious depressing of emotions.

Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Mastery

Emotional intelligence is critical if we are to lead happy, healthy lives. Unfortunately for the past 100 years our cultural norm has been to value the intellect (IQ) over emotional intelligence (EQ). Learning how to master our emotions and use our 3 brains (head, heart and gut) massively improves our ability to navigate life with ease.

Assertiveness Training and Bully Boundaries

Lack of assertiveness and allowing oneself to be bullied leads to chronic stress, anxiety and even illness. I teach people step-by-step techniques on how to take care of themselves, create clear boundaries around unfair treatment and communicate honestly in order to remain in integrity with themselves and others.

Breathwork Training

Breathing disorders are common but it is not commonly known the detrimental effect this can have mentally, emotionally and physically. Learning to breathe effectively can alleviate and/or manage many physical, physiological and psychological conditions.I can assess a person's mechanical breathing pattern and begin effective breath training, if necessary using bio-feedback programme. This greatly helps to balance the nervous system and reduce stress.

Mindfulness Training

Being present and aware is beneficial on multiple levels: it brings greater focus and clarity in all aspects of life. Through mindfulness technqiues, breathwork and Qigong I can show your staff how to experience greater mindfulness at work and in personal life.

Individual Employee Health Coaching

Tailor-made health coaching is used to help individuals prevent physical or mental illness, or recover, manage and eradicate physical / mental / emotional illness and stress.

I specialize in showing people exactly step-by-step how to manage and reduce symptoms, illness, anxiety, exhaustion, burnout, depression and stress. I can teach people how to overcome indecisiveness, lack of self-assertion, low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and more.

If needed sessions can be conducted very successfully remotely by phone or skype, which reduces the amount of time your staff need to spend away from work, using a number of cutting-edge methods all designed to identify and clear the root cause of the problem... for good. I have worked successfully with all employee levels, from administrative personnel to mid level management and CEOs.

Small focus groups

We can work with small groups of up to 6 people to address specific issues which may be affecting work performance and results. This includes stress management, burnout prevention or recovery, work-life fitness, assertiveness training and more.
